How to Show Seconds in Windows 11 Clock on the Taskbar

In this article, we’ll show you how you can show seconds in Windows 11 clock. On Windows 11, you can now display the seconds in the System Tray clock, and this option can be enabled under the taskbar settings.

Microsoft recently released the Moment 3 update for Windows 11 and included a crucial feature that Windows users had long requested: Show seconds in Windows 11 clock on the taskbar. Although it’s not turned on by default, it can help you keep track of time more precisely. To activate it, you simply need to make a brief trip to the settings app.

The system clock appears on the bottom right of the Windows 11 taskbar, displaying the current time. Many users had to use either third-party tool or registry workaround to display the seconds along with the clock. This is no longer necessary because the taskbar settings in Windows 11 comes with a separate option to show seconds on the clock in the taskbar.

The feature to display the seconds in system tray clock was first added with Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25247. As per Microsoft, we are introducing the capability to show seconds in the clock on the system tray. This feature can be enabled by toggling the option listed under Settings > Personalization > Taskbar in the Taskbar behavior section.

Perform the following steps to show seconds for clock in Taskbar on Windows 11.

  • On Windows 11 PC, right-click on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
  • Click the down arrow next to Taskbar behaviors.
  • Under Taskbar behaviors, scroll all the way to the bottom and enable the checkbox for Show seconds in the system tray clock.

If you want to hide the seconds in the system tray clock, go to taskbar settings and under taskbar behaviors, uncheck the option “Show seconds in the system tray clock“. If you are unable to find the option show seconds in Windows 11 Clock on the taskbar missing, ensure you update your Windows 11 to the latest build.

Enable Never Combine Taskbar Buttons in Windows 11

In this article, we’ll show you how to enable never combine taskbar buttons in Windows 11. Windows 11 now offers a setting “never combine taskbar buttons” in the taskbar settings, with which all the windows applications are shown as individual items in the taskbar.

The option, known as “never combined mode,” is rolling out with the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23466 to the rebooted Dev Channel flighting 23000 series builds. According to Microsoft, this was the most requested feature for Windows 11. The new never combined mode is first rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel, and later it will be available for all Windows 11 stable releases.

Windows 10 users who upgraded to Windows 11 noticed that option never combine taskbar buttons and labels were missing in Windows 11. Because this critical feature was missing and users were unable to display taskbar items individually, most users reverted to Windows 10.

There were numerous requests by users for the feature to be added to Windows 11, and finally, Microsoft is bringing never combined mode to Windows 11. You don’t have to do any registry edits nor use any third-party apps to never combine taskbar buttons in Windows 11.
